Shaped within a diamond, a brilliant flower adorns this splendid hand-carved backgammon set. The craftsmanship is unique, as the board displays Ketut Sandi’s expertise and imagination. He uses manual tools to carve the detailed imagery from kepelan wood. The checkers and dice are all carved by hand from sono wood; the lighter pieces are carved from the external part of the wood.

Mythical hounds bare their teeth as they guard a lavishly sculpted box. It opens to reveal a backgammon board of kepelan wood. Ketut Sandi carves the box and each piece by hand, creating the playing field with contrasting wood inlays. The playing pieces and dice are sculpted from sono wood.
