Fiery sunbursts on warm brown wool illuminate the rugged Oaxaca sierra. Its bold color and meticulously woven motifs make this accent rug a focal point in any setting. Working in hand-loomed wool, the Ruiz Bazan Family creates an heirloom piece. Titled “Sierra Zapoteca” in Spanish. Because each rug is individually woven on handlooms, measurements could vary as much as 5 cm (3.5 in).

Glowing earth tones form the traditional Zapotec star motif, leading the eye on a pathway to the heavens. Woven on the handloom, this extraordinary rug exemplifies the superb craftsmanship of Gregorio Ruiz. The artisans use soft wool obtained from local farmers, tinted with natural and artificial dyes, to create masterpieces with the essence of their culture. Because each rug is individually woven on handlooms, measurements could vary +/- 5 cm (2 in). Titled “Diamantes Zapotecas” in Spanish.

Bolts of lightning herald the presence of the Zapotec gods who inspire the design of this attractive rug. From the Oaxacan Artisan Association, the wool rug is woven on a traditional handloom and colors are obtained from natural dyes. This is a hand-loomed product elaborated with natural dyes, please expect slight differences in size and color.
